What age group is this camp for?
Our activities will be geared towards ages 8-11. If your child is not in this age group and still wants an interactive summer experience, feel free to contact us so we can discuss!
Is it really free?
Yes! Our virtual camp is completely free. We understand that COVID-19 has presented unusually tough times for families and we want to help out as much as we can. However, if you feel that our services went beyond expectation and you'd like to help us grow, we will accept any donations!
What platform will my child be using to virtually connect?
We will be using Google meet for our camp.
How do I get started with Google meet?
All you will need is a google account and we will send you or your child a link to join a meeting!
Does my child need to be connected to the meeting via audio and video?
We do ask that your child has audio and video capabilities so we can communicate with them and make the camp experience as interactive as possible!
When will camp start?
The first week of camp will begin on June 29th. Once you sign up, you will be able to indicate which weeks your child will be able to attend. Please note that there will be no camp on July 3rd due to the holiday.
What are camp hours?
Each day will run from 10am-1pm (EST), Monday through Friday. If your child cannot attend during those times, please reach out to us so we can try to come up with a solution -- you might not be alone and we are flexible!
What materials does my child need?
Your child will need a device that is able to connect to a Google meet. They may need other supplies that will be used throughout the day in our activities. We will send out an email with a supplies list for each week well in advance. It will be your responsibility to make sure that your child has the right materials. However, we will try our best to use supplies that can usually be found at home for our activities!
Example materials: paint, paper, scissors, etc.
How will you communicate with parents?
We will mainly be communicating through emails. Any updates, program details, and changes in schedule will be sent via email provided during registration.
Does my child need his/her own email?
It is preferable that your child has an email that he/she will be able to use to join our meetings. However, if your child does not have an email (personal or school account), they are encouraged to create one or use a parent account!
Who are the virtual camp instructors?
Deanna and Sam Bolislavsky. We will each lead different activities and try to make virtual camp as fun as possible! We've had experience entertaining and looking after our younger sister and were even trying to become camp counselors this summer...before COVID shut everything down.
